New Lawyers: Save the Date! The popular Open Sections Night in Spokane will take place on October 22 from 5-7 p.m. The event will take place at the Spokane Club. For those who are interested, this will be a great opportunity to meet experienced practitioners, other new attorneys, and also learn about WSBA’s 28 practice sections. Click here to RSVP.

Back on September 11, the Access to Justice Board adopted its priorities for 2015-2017. The goal of these priorities is to guide the work of the committees and the board, in an attempt to achieve equal access to civil justice. It also helps guide those facing significant barriers, such as financial hardship. Click here to view these priorities.
Lastly, The American College of Trial Lawyers will be giving out their 2016 Emil Gumpert Award and are seeking applicants. This is an annual honor that includes a $100,000 prize that is awarded to an outstanding program. The considered programs should be designed to improve the administration of justice. The award itself is named to honor the college’s founder, Emil Gumpert. To submit an application, click here. Applications must be received by Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015.
