Washington State does not require a couple to get a family lawyer or a divorce attorney in a dissolution case. However, when you are getting a divorce (called “Dissolution” in Washington) there are legal documents you must file at specific times. These documents use legal terms and language that is known mostly only to lawyers or legal professionals. This can often become very confusing.
This is why at Lambert Law we suggest that you at least consult with a family attorney to get an overview of what could happen between initial filing and the final legal document you will obtain from the court called a “Decree of Dissolution.”
To maneuver all the steps in between will go much more smoothly with help from a knowledgable and understanding team.
